Default darn 4 wheeler

so i have this 87 big bear 350 ok......it was running like poo at top speed

so i rebuilt the carb with some help from a buddy of mine, and now the damn thing runs worse....lol

i took the carb off 3 times now and now i have all the old parts back in it and still the same problem.

it idles fine but when it is at idle and ya goose the throttle it wants to fall on its face and stall, i thought maybe the intake had a leak so i had it idling and sprayed carb cleaner all around to see if the idle changes and nothing.

altho i never did take it on a high speed run yet but i know the carb never acted like this before, and trust me the damn thing is operating table clean!

maybe its the muffler since it has no back pressure cause its all rotted out, but its not like the stupid thing cared before the carb rebuild.

I'm almost to the point of filling the carb up with dirt and varnish again to see if that helps....lol

ya thats a little polish ingenuity.....but if it works then I'm a happy pollack!

Put the needle in the same spot as before? The pilot jet is clean? The float is correct? I've found the needle and seats in dirt bike carbs often stick. I fixed my buds Suzuki that ran like yours just by unsticking it and I mean it was STUCK!.

yes everything is in the stock location now, i might try to move the "E" clip down a notch to give it more fuel, it sounds like its leaning out to me.
the seat is brand new and we checked the float height. I have a book that tells me all the stock tolerances.
the thing i was thinking about was the carb has 2 cables going to it one for the butterfly and one for the slide, i was wondering if they are not timed correctly.
